The Grand
Hotel Diana Majestic seems to rise from the sea at Diano
Marina, the third city in Liguria for popularity among tourists; a strategic
position not just to admire the beauty Gulf of Diano Marina, but also for everything
it offers nearby. The countryside with its typical agricultural products, notably
the extra-virgin olive oil and wines, are just
a few kilometres away. You can choose a trip that combines culture and shopping
in the medieval hamlet of Cervo with its interesting museum
of country life from the last century.
A visit to the antique olive mills will take you back to a tradition
hundreds of years old. Why not combine this with a visit to the Olive
museum found in Imperia the capitol of the region; also home to the International
Naval museum. There are daily excursions out to sea to the whale sanctuary
where you can create some lifetime memories watching the massive mammals in their
natural habitat (whalewatch). In September every other year Imperia
hosts a meeting of antique sailboats and motor yachts.
Interesting dates to mark on your calendar!
The festivities continue throughout the year with events in the Spring organized
by the province. Diano Marina also hosts many excursions on the water: the island
of Gallinara or a visit to Alassio with its
“budello” the “guts” of the city: a very narrow street bursting
with shops and characteristic locales. |

For those into pedalling, whether
with mountain or street bikes, the staff can offer maps
with many routes in the area all the way to nearby Piedmont. Our personnel
can also obtain professional bilingual guides.
Near the town of San Bartolomeo al Mare you can try your hand at archery. In every
direction, never more than a few kilometres away, are golf courses:
Garlenda, Castellaro and Solaro of San Remo to name a few.
Garlenda and Solaro also offer horseback
riding on an international level. San Remo, the city
of flowers famous for its song festival and casino are just a few minutes away.
If you want to tempt your fortune, Menton, Montecarlo and Cannes
in the French Riviera are not far away at all, and a great day trip could include
a stop in the scenic town of Bordighera. The Italian Riviera
is so beautiful that it should be admired from all angles even from above.
You can do it from the airport of Villanova d'Albenga where there
are daily flights to Rome. In the Italian Riviera of Flowers
your only problem will be what to choose! |
